174 Irish consumers and companies had their name appear in Stubbs this week due for failure to repay debts to creditors.


The value of the judgments reached €8m (including joint and severally liable cases).

The tax office secured more judgments than any other institution. Tax authorities registered 73 judgments worth €4.3m; the largest of which was for
€621,435 (Discharged €443,943.80, Balance €177,491.88) against Diarmuid Barry of 14 Spencer Villas, Adelaide Road, Glasthule, County Dublin.

County Councils notched up the next biggest tally of judgments, obtaining 24 with a value of nearly €370,000. South Dublin County Council were awarded the largest judgment of €23,263 against Michael Blehin (T/A AAce Furniture Removals and Storage).

Banks secured 5 judgments valued at €2.4m. The largest judgment secured was by Bank of Ireland for €1.1m against Frank and Annette Spillane of Ardmannagh, Schull, County Cork. Both parties are jointly and severally liable for the debt.

There was only one judgment listed as “satisfied” last week, which was for €1,876.35.

Examiners were appointed to five separate companies and Kieran Wallace of KPMG was appointed to Homebase House and Garden Centre ltd.
